Join us for a 4 week class on Friday mornings in October. Brenda Lou and Liz are experienced instructors with 50+ years of teaching students to quilt. We have been working in the textile industry for several decades, teaching classes, operating a fabric store and as authorized sewing machine dealers, and an online fabric store. We will take you through all the steps to create a lap quilt, from planning, cutting, machine sewing, basting, machine quilting, and finally, binding your quilt. Your class fee of $ 65 includes 4 class sessions with instructor, quilt pattern, and text book. Fabric and sewing supplies are not included in your class fee. You can purchase these yourself at a fabric store, or kits are available for purchase. You will need a sewing machine in good working order to bring to class, or sewing machines are available to rent. The rental fee is $ 50 and includes use during all 4 classes.
Class size is limited to 12 students during this time, in order to maintain a safe environment. If you have a group that you would like to schedule a private class for, please contact us using the contact us feature at the top of the page. Students must be at least 14 years of age. Classes are held at The hub in Jordan, MN. After 15 minutes of set up time, instruction will begin. Classes are relaxed and fun; you can work at your own pace, and there will be a small break during each class. We look forward to having you join us!

*Sewing machine in good working order *Scissors *Cotton Thread
*Fabric for Quilt top: 6 fat quarters or half yard cuts, or kit is available to purchase for $ 22 *Fabric for Backing & Binding: 1.75 yards + 45" x 60" batting, or kit is available to purchase for $ 30

Supplies that are handy to bring, but optional: (We will have these items available for your use during class as well as available to purchase)
You can purchase everything you need at the first class or bring supplies with you. The backing, binding and batting will not be needed until the third class.
You will need basic knowledge of how to operate a sewing machine and be able to wind a bobbin and thread your machine with ease. If you have not sewn before, that is okay, you'll just need to familiarize yourself with your machine ahead of time and learn these basic operations. Make sure you bring your manual with you to class with your machine. If you are renting a machine, we can work with you to teach you these basics during the first break. We are unable to do this for machines not provided as rentals. If you have any questions, please reach out to us ahead of time.
Class fees must be paid before the start of class, and are non refundable, as they hold your spot. If we can fill your spot from a wait list, we will refund your fee minus a $ 20 cancellation fee.
